iArt was established in 2006 in Cape Town. This fast rising gallery has become one of the leading galleries to represent primarily contemporary South African artists and is a go-to place for local and international collectors and curators looking for established and emerging talent.
In 2009, iArt opened a Project Room as an incubator to platform emerging talent, with the intention of feeding into the broader gallery program. The focus of iArt is to represent, exhibit and promote South African contemporary, career artists towards ensuring visibility and stature in the global art context.
The gallery exhibits at major local and international art fairs, secures museum acquisitions and publishes important catalogues with full-color reproductions and scholarly essays. Home to some of South Africa’s most distinguished contemporary artists and under the direction of Elana Brundyn and Ann Gonsalves, iArt has established itself as a respected cultural voice of the country.
