Moproo (my own private room) is a contemporary art gallery established in Shanghai, China, in late 2011 with the mission of developing a strong artistic bridge between the worlds of East and West with their different understandings of art and collecting.
The exhibitions program of the gallery includes contemporary artists from Europe as well as from China, India, Australia and the Americas. In its aim of becoming a place for the exchange of artistic experiences, the gallery shows works from artists mastering different disciplines, from oil painting to photography, from video installation to sculpture.
The program of moproo in Shanghai opened with the solo exhibition of Italian artist Maurizio Lanzillotta in April 2012, followed by the exhibitions of Spanish artist Carlos Domingo and Icelandic photographer Egill Bjarki. Other solo exhibitions include the work of Juan Antonio Baños and Marc Schmitz. Until the present moment (December 2013) group exhibitions such as “moproo is my own private room” and “summer in the city” have displayed the work of numerous international artists such as Shen Wei, Wilson Wang, Ruth Montiel, Nico Munuera, Xie Ai Ge, Liu Tao, Jose Luis Serzo, Mei Le and Hu Ri Bo.
moproo is actively participating to the art scene in Asia and Europe by attending art fairs in both continents such as SH Contemporary, Art Beijing, Art Madrid and JustMad5, and by organizing private exclusive art sales to their collectors all around Asia such as Shanghai, Hong Kong, Xiamen and Taipei.
