Yggdrasil was the sacred tree of Norse mythology that represented the center of the Universe and whose fruits responded to all the dilemmas enunciated by man. In it was inspired in 2012 Manuel Durão (n.1987), a young Lisbon composer who studied at the Superior School of Music in Lisbon and graduated in composition in Leipzig. He currently lives in Germany where he works as a teacher, composer and teacher.
The Symphony No. 7 in E major by Anton Bruckner (1824-1896), one of his best known works, was written between 1881 and 1883 and premiered the following year in Leipzig. Dedicated to the monarch of Bavaria Ludwig II, its four movements denote a strong influence of Richard Wagner, composer of election of Bruckner.
