** Biography of Johny Hallyday: **
Johnny Hallyday, his real name Jean-Philippe Smet, born June 15, 1943 in the 9th arrondissement of Paris and died December 5, 2017 in Marnes-la-Coquette (Hauts-de-Seine), is a singer, composer and actor French.
During his 57-year career, he established himself as one of the most famous French-speaking singers and one of the most present figures in the French media landscape.
If he was not the first to sing rock in France, he was, from 1960, the first to popularize rock 'n' roll in France. The different musical currents he engages in - rock 'n' roll, pop, rhythm and blues, soul, psychedelic rock - all have their origins in the blues. Although he performs many variety, ballad and sometimes country songs, rock remains his main reference. His longevity at the forefront of the artistic scene and his vocal and scenic performances attracted him the recognition of his peers and the public. In total, he produced 80 albums, including 51 studio albums. It totals 6 diamond discs, 40 gold discs, 22 platinum discs and 10 Victoires de la Musique. Outside of French-speaking countries, if he did not succeed in establishing himself durably despite several successful tours, especially in South America, his reputation as a stage man crossed borders. He thus made 184 tours and gave more than 3,250 concerts, totaling 29 million spectators, with big budget performances and stage effects.
