The voice of Ângela Maria and the work of Roberto and Erasmo Carlos have been in the affective memory of the Brazilians for decades, translating good feelings and remembering passions, with an elegance that is not lost in the dust of time. Common points that made the singer accept the suggestion of the producer Thiago Marques Luiz for this "Angela Maria and the songs of Roberto and Erasmo", which marks the enviable 67 years of Ângela's career.
Ângela and Thiago went to speak to Roberto personally to ask for his authorization. Roberto received them with a huge smile and for some time they remembered happy moments, including with Lady Laura, whose favorite singer was Angela Maria. Angela talked to Roberto about the project. "Rest assured I know you're jealous and we'll choose the repertoire together." Roberto said that for him and for any composer it is an honor to be recorded by Angela and that she was allowed to record what she wanted.
The singer also asked to record Sitting at the Edge of the Road with Erasmus. In 1970, the two made a curious name show, The Best and the Worst, billed as "the biggest musical breaker of the year". The touch of sensationalism did not correspond to the beautiful meeting, which had in Sitting on the Edge its high point. Giving up the nickname Giant Giant, Erasmo went to the studio to record the duet.
How Great My Love For You closes the record, with Angela sharing the microphone with Cauby Peixoto, a friend and lifelong partner. The track was recorded in 2013 for the award-winning reunion album and here it resurges with new arrangement and new mix, in voice take different from the recording already released.
With freedom to choose the repertoire, songs written by the King and Tremendão between 1969 and 1979 were selected.
Angela is thrilled with them, she listens at home, but she never had the courage to sing.
At age 88, the eternal queen of radio accompanied by a super-band of 8 musicians led by maestro Billy Magno is able to surprise .
